Pagani Huayra Roadster Revealed

“…Tutto doveva essere unico,
cioè come una macchina ricavata da un blocco di marmo di Carrara…”

"...So everything had to come together as if it was a car carved out of a block of Carrara marble..."

“... la ricerca della bellezza come concetto fondamentale,
un’opera d’arte spensierata, intelligente ed in topless…”

“... the pursuit of beauty as a fundamental concept, an unbridled work of art, intelligence and open-air passion ...”

Pagani Huayra Production Sold Out

According to a recent report, all the Pagani Huayra have been sold out. The first edition of the Pagani Huayra was limited to just 100 units as part of the agreement with AMG which supplies the car's twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 engine that develops 730 HP. Of course all the cars are not yet produced, we were talking only about orders, and it will take a bit of time until all the units will have been produced. It's also rumored that the next Huayra version will not be unveiled during the upcoming Geneva Motor Show and as a consequence the Roadster variant will delay until 2017.

Pagani Huayra 730S Revealed

This is the second one-off Pagani Huayra to be built after the famous Huayra “La Monza Lisa”. The first infos about this car started come out in September when the Mexican supercar collector by the name of @salomondrin on Instagram, announced he had ordered a custom 1 of 1 Pagani Huayra dubbed the 730S Edition. Then, no news until yesterday when the owner posted on his Instagram profile the official renders of the car.

Pagani Unveils the Pagani Huayra Dinastia Edition during the 2014 Macau Auto Show

During the Macau Auto Show which took place on 7th November 2014, Pagani China Automotive Limited (PCAL) showcased the new Pagani Huayra Dinastia edition to the public. This special Huayra will be produced to celebrate the launch of PCAL operations in Hong Kong for China and Macau. This limited edition is a symbolic signature of a great emperor. The imperial power in dynasties is represented by dragons that are the major spiritual significance in the Chinese culture.

During the previous visit in China, Mr. Horacio Pagani went to Beijing and when he entered the Forbidden City for the first time, looking at the Nine Dragons Wall, his eyes were suddenly attracted by the dragons body shape, the floating in the sky reminding him of the wind.

On his return back to Italy he sat down in his office and realized that some work was still unfinished. After picking up his pen Horacio started drawing some sketches on a paper. Instantly he integrated the shape of the dancing dragon along the two sides of the Huayra body.

Thanks to his interest in the Chinese culture, Mr. Pagani then decided to create 3 units out of 100 Huayra limited edition to celebrate the establishment of Pagani China Automotive Limited in Asia. Why only 3 limited edition? In China, the way how number 3 is pronounced in Chinese language, sounds like the character sheng, which is the meaning of “life, new birth”.
For these three units Mr. Pagani has chosen three distinct colors and applied them on these carbon body works.

Carbon Pagani Huayra at Night by Richard Thompson

I would like to report a nice article with amazing pictures by Richard Thompson from eGarage. For some reasons the Pagani Zonda wasn't legal in the USA so during these 10 years it was very difficult meet a Pagani on the streets of North America. It's nice to feel the enthusiasm of an overseas Pagani enthusiast which for the first time has the opportunity to shoot a Pagani, in this case the US spec Pagani Huayra with bare carbon-fiber body.

During Monterey Car Week 2013 — car mecca for those in the know — I had a chance to team up with eGarage for a shoot I had long been after. Having been a Pagani lover since Horacio spoke at my college and displayed the original Zonda C12 about ten years ago, I was always eager to find one for a photoshoot. For many years import laws effectively kept Pagani out of North America, but the opportunity finally presented itself on the heels of a marathon weekend shooting the Pebble Beach festivities, where Pagani presented this brand new and stunningly beautiful all carbon Huayra.

The build quality of the car has always been the main attractor for me; Pagani’s level of finesse in manufacturing and respect for quality over quantity is unrivaled in the car business. A remarkable feat in consideration of the size of their competitors, and a testament to Horacio’s ingenuity.

The Huayra is the latest example in Pagani’s endless study of space age manufacturing as it applies to cars. The entire chassis is woven from an exotic carbon variant referred to as “carbotitanium”, possessing the best qualities of both carbon fiber and titanium while inheriting none of the drawbacks…just one of many innovative processes used in production of the Pagani Huayra.

Having a chance to pour over the details of the car and discuss it with Pagani staff was a real treat and an experience I won’t soon forget. Thanks to Automobili Pagani and eGarage for making it possible, and I’m looking forward to having some more hands on time with this amazing car in the near future!
